We are very pleased to welcome back the Tibetan Monks from Tashi Lhunpo Monastery for a Peace Mandala and Tibetan Culture weekend, last seen at Lupton in 2019.
The programme is as follows:
Thursday 26th September: Set up for Peace Mandala – 4pm Dedication Ceremony
Friday 27th September: Peace Mandala start am & morning prayers (9am Morning prayers & 10am-12.30 Talk/Intro to the Peace Mandala
Saturday 28th September: Peace Mandala continues all day 10am – 4pm
10am – 11.30am – Introduction to the Vajra (Different sorts of Vajras, background, symbolism, Vajra in the Peace Mandala, draw the Vajra design using chagpur/sand – (MAINLY ADULT)
1pm – 2.30pm – Hands on workshop – Prayer flag printing, butter sculpture, dukar-wheel making, mandala making, Tibetan language – SUITABLE FOR ALL AGES – TRY EACH OF THE FIVE ACTIVITIES
3pm – 4pm – Leading in to Destruction of the Mandala & procession
TICKETS ARE VERY LIMITED AND ON A FIRST COME BASIS SO BOOKING IS ESSENTAL.
